Fresh Coat Painters in Austin Team Up With Camp of the Hills to Give Back

MARBLE FALLS, Texas — Fresh Coat Painters of Marble Falls, North Austin and Central Austin - led by owners Sarah Ross, Erick Estrada and Edgar Medina - are joining forces to give back to Camp of the Hills, a faith-based summer camp dedicated to providing life-changing experiences for underprivileged children. Through the Fresh Coat Cares initiative, the Austin-area Fresh Coat teams are donating their painting services to enhance the camp’s volunteer housing, ensuring those who dedicate their summers to supporting campers have a welcoming place to stay.
Camp of the Hills serves children who may not have the financial means or social support to experience a traditional summer camp. Many campers are bused in from urban areas to enjoy the outdoor experience in a rural setting, where they can build confidence, learn life skills and create lasting memories. Ross first connected with the camp’s leadership through a networking event. After learning about the camp’s mission, she became deeply involved, even volunteering last year by cooking meals for the children.
Recognizing a significant need, Ross, Estrada, Medina and their Fresh Coat teams are donating their time and resources to paint the interior and exterior of a newly constructed volunteer housing facility. This building, which will feature six bedrooms, will provide accommodations for volunteers who dedicate their summers to mentoring and supporting campers.
“This project isn’t just about paint — it’s about creating a welcoming space for the people who make this camp possible,” said Ross. “Many of these volunteers were once campers themselves, returning year after year to give back. We are proud to collaborate across the Austin Fresh Coat Painters network to contribute to a place that has such a lasting impact on children and volunteers alike.”
Camp of the Hills has been transforming lives since 1990 when two men of faith brought a group of kids from Houston’s Fifth Ward to experience the outdoors. From those humble beginnings, the camp has grown into a 105-acre site that continues to thrive, thanks to the dedication of volunteers and community supporters.
In addition to the Fresh Coat Cares project, there are many ways to support Camp of the Hills, including sponsoring a child for camp or volunteering on-site.
