Brian Stern Transforms The Den with Fresh Coat Cares Project

VERNON HILLS, Ill. –  Fresh Coat Painters of Vernon Hills, Illinois, is stepping up to support local athletes by giving The Den, the indoor practice facility for Vernon Hills Cougars Baseball and Softball (VHCBS), a much-needed facelift. As part of the Fresh Coat Cares initiative, franchise owners Nicole and Brian Stern are donating their time and resources to repaint the facility, ensuring a better training experience for young athletes in the community.

VHCBS, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides baseball and softball programs for local youth. With winter training and unpredictable outdoor conditions, The Den serves as a crucial space for athletes to practice year-round. However, the current white walls make it difficult for players to track the ball, impacting their training experience. The Fresh Coat Painters team will update the facility, enhancing visibility and creating a more engaging environment for players.

Brian, a board member of VHCBS and head coach of the 9U boys’ baseball team, has been involved with the organization for three years. With a son in the program, he understands firsthand the importance of a well-maintained training space.

“We live in this community, and we’re passionate about giving back to the programs that shape our kids’ futures,” said Brian. “The new leadership at VHCBS has been working hard to enhance the facilities, and we’re excited to contribute by making The Den a place where athletes can train at their best.”

The project is scheduled to begin on March 24th and will take approximately 4-5 days to complete.

This initiative is just one of many community projects Fresh Coat Painters of Vernon Hills plans to support through Fresh Coat Cares, a program dedicated to giving back to the communities that give to them.
